Raves

"Before I took the PhotoMoms class I just let the camera do all the work. I figured pushing the button down would ensure that the moment was captured and then that was that. Of course when I'd look back at the pictures a majority of them weren't at all worth the time it took to push the button and they were promptly deleted. After taking the class I have become more aware and braver in taking my pictures. I'm also more aware of angles and lighting now. Thanks Natalie for your class, it made me come out of my shell a bit more as a picture taker and has put me one step closer to being a photographer."

" Your workshop was great. I'm really glad I took both the classes. Everything was explained so simply. You rock!"

PhotoMoms and Foundational Photography 1.0 attendee

"I had done a lot of studying on my own about all the technical stuff prior taking the class, so for me it was being able to ask questions and hear about your strategies and approaches to 'uncommon' situations/settings that was so helpful. You are amazing."

The photo classes have nearly come to an end! I can't believe how quickly the time has flown. Here's a cool homework assignment that was submitted today by one of my students, Lee Yen.

Photography Class: Foundational Photography.

Want to take your photography to the next level? Are you a beginner or an intermediate photographer with a real passion for taking great images? Love making people "ooh and aww" over the images in your scrapbooks and framed on your walls? Want to gain artistic control over your images by understanding your camera rather than always being at its mercy? Maybe you're even thinking about going pro. . . If any of those descriptions make your heart sing, then this class is for you.

In class we'll discuss:

  • manual camera settings
  • seeing and understanding light and how it affects your photography
  • exposure
  • intermediate - advanced creative composition
  • after each class, 15-20min, I'll be available for q&a: I'm happy to talk about anything under the sun. This will be particularly useful to those of you who are interested in talking business (ie how I got started, what I wish I'd known etc.) as we will not be discussing that in depth during class time.
Logistics:
  • Regular classes: April 2st, 9th, and 16th, 8-9pm.
  • Bonus: come shadow me on a real shoot! Observe me in action. Saturday April 17th 9:00am. I'll think aloud as I conduct a real portrait session, to be followed by an on site q&a and further discussion is available once images from the shoot are posted on the blog.
  • Class Loaction: Laie: TBA
Cost:
  • Cost for this workshop is $160. A $100 non-refundable retainer is due upfront to reserve your space and balance is due in full at least 1 week prior to the first class. Class will cap at 20 students so register today.
INTERESTED IN ATTENDING BOTH CLASSES SIMULTANEOUSLY?

Save $50 by enrolling in both PhotoMoms and Foundational Photography simultaneously! Total due will be $220 rather than the retail price of $270.

Email me at natalienorton{at}gmail{dot}com to reserve your space.
