EIGHT years ago today.

I married this guy 8 years ago today.

(I know, he looks like he's 14)

He had just turned 22, I had just turned 21,
and we had known each other for a whopping 2 months.

true story.

Yesterday we were sitting on the back porch,
chatting about how crazy we were and Richie said:

"You know, had I known then what I know now,
I would have married you even faster than that."

and all I could say to that is a resounding "ME TOO, ABSOLUTELY!"

These 8 years have been blissful. . .
annnnnd, they've been like the refiner's fire in so many ways.

Not in regards to our marriage, AT ALL.
but in regards to the craziest life circumstances you could possibly imagine,
in your very wildest dreams, ever.
all crammed into this short little window of life.

and yet today,
looking back,
I can honestly say now that I'm grateful for all of it.

and I am so thankful to have held YOUR hand along the way and no one else's.

I love you Richie.

yours forever,

Nat Nat

PS. I'm off for the day celebrating us.
Tomorrow I've got an exciting wedding in Kailua,
soooo I'll see you next week. . .
hopefully with the launch of the new blog!

hopefully.

This new mythical blog is such a good tactic. I always say to myself "let me see if the natalie's new layout" is up and then BAM here I am. I am afraid that I'll miss trhe old layout though. Naw...it's the writing and pictures I am here for, I'll always be back.

Did you REALLy know each other for just 2 months? Please tell us more. Congrats.

OK, I'm dying to hear the two months from meeting to marriage story. You need to share...

And congratulations. I hope your 9th year of marriage is full of much love and joy, and much less heartache.

Hey Nat! Congrats to you guys! You two are AMAZING! And such a great example in so many ways! You guys are so cute in that picture... and still are! I remember you telling me the story of how you met and married (on our drive out to Ko Olina for a shoot) and loving it! Happy Anniversary! Looking forward to seeing the new blog! Take care! We love you guys!

Congratulations! My husband and I were 4 1/2 months from meeting to marriage and I always love to be able to show my horrified children other people who were even faster and are also happy. (Not that I necessarily want them to follow us down that road.) I guess when you know, you know.

Natalie and Richie,
Heavenly Father knew you were meant for each other. He gave you a two month window to help the rest of us get used to the short time.
I love you both.

Congratulations! My hubby and I make 8 years in almost a month but we dated 11 months which is a long time in "our" standards but we totally would've gotten married sooner if we could've. I was only 18! Wouldn't have had it any other way! Give Kailua my loves for me. It's my hometown and I miss it more than I can express! Again Happy anniversary!

Happy Anniversary! When it's meant to be, it's meant to be. My hubby and I were engaged after 6 weeks, freaking out our parents, but they got used to the idea. :) We waited 4 months after that to get married because dh's twin brother was getting married, too, and we wanted to give them some space.

I found out you are related to the Cardon's (hence, your son's name...). My grandmother is Suzanne Cardon.

Two months after I met my husband we got married too. We're celebrating 19 years in December. Congratulations on 8 years! Hope the next 8 are even more blissful.

I can't believe you had only known each other for 2 months!! That's crazy!!

(I'm not judging, our's was 6 months, but we knew after about 3 weeks we were gonna get hitched)

Hope you had a great day!!

Awwww, yaaaay!! Happy "together 8 years" day!! I have to say that I dated my husband for right under 2 months before we got married too. Three kids and 7 and half years later..... I guess it just proves you do not have to date for any lengthy amount of time to make a marriage work. You just do it....Like you have no other choice! I hope you guys have many, many more Happy together 8 {more} years together" days!!:)
