I got my shots a few weeks ago! mahalo for educating my wife and I before she arrived and certainly for documenting her after the arrival so beautifully!!!!!!!
i got my shot a while ago. my gyn told me how important it is to have this shot and that everyone should get it b4 you welcome children into your life!
wow, right as I was reading your blog a comercial came on for the adult pertussis vaccination. It was funny to see it because I really had never heard of it before. Its interesting to never hear of it then all of a sudden you hear of it everywere
The adult pertussis booster is now combined with the tetnis booster and is recommended every 5 years as relatively new research shows that these vaccines wane over time. The reason for the influx in these vaccine preventable diseases is two fold. 1. less people are vaccinating their children and I would say perhaps even more significantly number 2. parents and caregivers vaccines are wearing off and they are unaware.
Pertussis is often misdiagnosed as bronchitis in adults which is terrifying as it is the most contagious vaccine preventable disease. If someone is exposed there is a 90-100% chance they will contract the disease.
Grown ups, get your shot. Just do it. Even if you aren't in consistent contact with young babies. If you EVER think you will be near an infant again, stay current with the adult pertussis booster.
Beautiful baby! Just wanted you to know... because of your story, my husband received his vaccine several weeks ago and my doctor knows to give me mine when our sweet baby Evelyn is born in the next week or two... thank you for your openness.
Just wanted to let you know I got my pertussis booster this week! I thought of your sweet boy while I was there. Hopefully my husband will get his in the next couple weeks too. Thinking of you!

Have you already posted when/how often adults need the vaccine? I searched around (a little) and didn't really find a clear answer. Thanks!
