did you miss me?

this week was south of crazy.

(in the best way possible).

here's what the to do list looked like on Monday:

lots of mommyhood.

find an Ashley.
ps. she's magic.

glenn and jill's (above) wedding album.
(jill, it is going to blow your mind)

double check.

wrap things up with genius designer.
(meaning the new blog is coming before I turn 73, which is really encouraging)

get promo material for 2 workshops coming this summer.
(info coming soon: july 1, seattle | july 9, calgary. email me pronto,
they both almost sold out before they've even hit the blog. BAM!)

quadruple check!!

shoot + edit squared.

survive the 3 month mark.
(yes, he's offically been gone from this world longer than he was in it)

sigh. check.

wrap the sad in your heart in yoga and tears.

check. and another sigh.

now, date night with Uncle Richie!

in progress.

here's a thought for your Friday night
inspired by dear family friend
Stephen R. Covey:

don't get caught up in the "stuff" of your day ins and outs.
avoid the "activity trap."

(insert addiction to social media network of choice)

You'll find that you're working harder and harder to climb
that latter of success, only to realize:

If the ladder is not leaning against the right wall,
every.single.step we take,
will just get us to the wrong place. . .

love you guys.

Thanks for the part about the ladder. It's great advice!

Reading your blog makes me happy.

Beautiful picture, beautiful you. Here's to checking things off the list and enjoying (mostly) every minute of it.

Ugh! My ladder is TOTALLY against the wrong wall. Love that, thank you. And I also love your list making. I am a list QUEEN...so much so I spend more time making lists than actually doing the work. Yikes.

Hugs for the 3 month mark (frowny face). Still praying for your sweet family.

whatever wall your ladder is leaning please don't ever stop blogging. This is exactly what I needed to read today. I wish I had read it about 12 hours ago when I was in a pissy mood, but now is good too.

wow. Look at you go super mom.
Never ceasing to amaze me.
The list may be getting longer but at least we are starting to cross things off right? Have a great date night!

I happened to stumble across your blog for the first time the other day and have been hooked ever since. I found myself so involved in your words, wrapped up in the amazing story that is your life, that I was moved to tears on more than one occasion (and those who know me, KNOW, that's not me). I know we all have hardships, our own wars to wage against all sorts of beasts. I like to think that there's a method to the madness, and your heart felt words and BEAUTIFUL pictures may just be the ammunition some of us need to make it through our own. Thank you.

Oh how I love your posts. And what we would PAY to go to one of your workshops. The baby due on July 21 is probably going to keep us away, but you just wait for your next workshops, and we'll be there! First to book and totally stoked to go!!!

Yup! First part of July. I'll be there for like a day and a half. :)

you shot DENNIS REYNOLDS?!!!! Kenny and I (aka Fotofafa) are way jealous. I hope he was as awesome as his character. Now that you're buds with him, you can tell him that we are naming a daughter after his fictional twin sister "Dee." IF we have a daughter, that is.

As always, beautiful words and beautiful photos.

I'm sure he'll be thrilled. :) xx! N

Natalie, that shot is perfect, and your checklist is amazing as always. :)

7 Habits of Highly Effective People best book I ever read in college. Still try to always remember to seek first to understand, then to be understood. Too many people don't listen because they're thinking of their argument or the defence of their side!
