Love smells of peanut butter and Lysol,
of fresh cut grass and the carpool lane.
Love smells of
play dates and dirty diapers
and 3 little monkeys jumping on the bed.
It smells like flour and dish soap,
baby lotion and Band-Aids.
Like baseball games and sunscreen,
hand sanitizer and barf.
Love sounds like sweet giggles
and terrorizing squeals.
Like no monsters in the closet or goblins under the bed.
It sounds like "I'll be your best freh'end"
and "you can't come to my birthday party!"
Like toy trains and bonfires,
Go Fish and big surf.
Like bank statements and kites,
recycling and taking out the trash.
Love looks like date nights and trampolines,
matinees and happy meals.
It looks like swimming in the rain and dancing in the kitchen.
Like singing at the top of your lungs
and skipping to my lou.
It looks like a house full of giggles
and a heart full of prayers.
Love is an angel waiting for you in Heaven
and the arms of God encircling you while you wait.
of fresh cut grass and the carpool lane.
Love smells of
play dates and dirty diapers
and 3 little monkeys jumping on the bed.
It smells like flour and dish soap,
baby lotion and Band-Aids.

hand sanitizer and barf.

I smelled, heard, saw every bit of this love. And I felt God's arms in the end. So sweetly beautiful.
That is beautiful, Natalie.
Still praying for you and your family.

Thank you for taking us with you through all of your thought processes. Writing these thoughts down will be a blessing to you in the future and are a blessing to those who read NOW. Thank you for your faith. I am inspired by you. Not because you seem perfect, but because you are REAL.
Nat,
I don't think you fully realize the impact you have made on so many lives, on people you do and do not know. Your faith in God has inspired me and so many others to trust and believe in a plan so much bigger than ourselves. Thank you for your honesty in this experience and for your real emotion. I love you and thank you for waking me up and encouraging me to really start living my life and enjoying every moment, good and bad.

Hi Natalie - if you have time visit this blog www.sheyerosemeyerphotography.com/blog. Read it all from start to finish, it will take a while but it's so worth.
I am in awe. That was so, so, beautiful. I am inspired every time I visit your blog. My heart goes out to you. You are in my prayers. :)
Love is a baby daughter who grows up to describe love exactly like this. Memories, old and newly minted, perfectly woven with a golden pen.
Love is you.

Pipsylou,
Oh my. I can't count how many times I say "I just want to go to bed" in a 24 hour period. Cannot count.
HUGE hug from my empty arms to yours!

Love is a grammie who is as fun and fancy as you. I love you mom.
BEAUTIFUL! =)
Well said. I loved this poem.
Hi Nat:)
I have been wanting to stop by and just hug you but I wasn't sure if you wanted visitors or not, and being that you don't really "know" me, I didn't want to bother you. i just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for the loss of not only your baby, but your brother too. I dont know what it feels like to lose a child, and I pray to God I never will, but I do know how it feels to lose a brother and I just wanted to say how much I admire you and your strength. Through your strength in this tremendous amount of sadness that you are in right now proves to me that it will be ok:)Valentines makes 3 months that my brother will have been gone and I miss him sorely each and every day.. Thank you so much for being strong and setting such a beautiful example to me. Every night my kids and I kneel and say family prayer and not a night has gone by where my babies ask heavenly father to make sure that baby Gavin is ok and to make sure their Uncle Waika is there to help him if he starts to cry:) My brother was amazing with children so I am sure through my children's prayers not only is your brother watching over him, but mines does the occasional check ins:).. Thank you to you and your beautiful family for showing me how to live again... Lots of love.. Brandi
Beautifully poetic! I wish I had your way with words! You always seem to verbalize exactly what my heart feels.
Brandi, are you Molly's friend? Is your brother the one was in the accident over by Hukilau? If SO. . . oh how you have been in my thoughts and prayers over the last few months. I think of you OFTEN and send as much love as I have in my heart to try to give yours some measure of comfort.
If you're not who I think you are, I still love you. :) But who are you? HA HA!
