Pee.

I just had a nice discussion of faith with a man of science.
.
and I liked it.
and he respected it,
and he respected me.
.
Doc needed to hear the run down from momma bear.
Because if my baby's going to live,
and I KNOW he is
because the spirit has told me so with irrefutable clarity,
I need to know what EXACTLY we're all to be praying for
and investing our faith in.
.
Rather than going in to a discussion of
ph levels,
c02 content,
leaky veins,
edema
and on
and on
and on
and onnnnnnnnnnnnn
.
I'll just tell you that we need healthy veins and a whole lota pee.
Doc says that once he's drainin that little dinger
faster than we can keep up with him,
I'll know my baby's getting better.
.
and folks,
I'm ready to know my baby's getting better.
.
ps. are you allowed to say dinger on a blog?
.
.
Oh, and for the love of pete!
IMMUNIZE YOUR KIDS.
and parents, check into getting the Pertussis Booster.

Hey! Just wanted to let you know that since I found out about your dear Gavin I have been giving my 3 month old son, Enzo, and extra hug and kiss on your behalf each time he goes down for a nap. And instead of telling stories at his many naps we spend our time praying for our dear friend Gavin and your family. I know it sounds silly, but I felt like I should tell you :) I KNOW great things are coming!!

Natalie! I've been following the trials you have been going through with you little baby boy & I just want you to know that you are in our thoughts & prayers you & your little family.

Your in good hands at Primary Childrens, we had our little boy lifeflighted there the day after the final papers were signed for his adoption & to know that the doctors & nurses are well trained & your with the best up to date medicine is comforting.

Our prayers are with you & your family in this time of need.

I'm sorry that you are having to go through this. I can't imagine how hard this is but being a Woman of Faith know that God will not give us more than we can handle. I will be praying for your family and Gavin and will stand believing God can use this trial for His Good.

Your story brings back a flood of memories. I know the "angels" you mention quite well & from one mom to another...let me tell you, I've been there. Watching my baby boy fight & listening to the doctors speak in tongues. We had a happy ending ( my Noah is now 9 & healthy as ever) and I know you will too. Sending prayers & positive thoughts you way...he can beat this!

Its so crazy how I am instantly become so involved in your life. I feel so close to your family, yet I have never met you. All day I am looking for updates, and praying steadfastly for your little guy. For his health, for his speedy recovery, and for the Lords will to manifest.
You are not alone Natalie. So many people care, and are praying for you!
Your faith is impeccable, and a true example to me!
Stay strong, he will get better!

I so hope that Baby Gavin gets well and has healthy veins and then pees!

I also hope that as the Man of Science respected your views that you respected his/her views. I can tell you that if push came to shove your would follow the man of science first before the faith and that is what heal your child.
Best of luck.

Hey, I'm not one for prayers but I follow your blog on RSS, and I'm really wishing for little Gavin to pull through, and with all the prayers and good wishes floating your way over the internet, that's gotta count for something right! He'll do it, no bother to him, I'm sure of it.
Fingers, toes and everything crossed for you, Gavin and the other boys.

I'm looking forward to that RSS notification saying that Gavin is all better!

i like that, "dinger". never heard it referred to as that before, but i like it. is that strange to say??
anyways, i'm praying for pee and a healthy gavin!!!
isn't the pertussis vaccination included in one of the shots that are supposed to immunize against 3 or 4 other illnesses too?? or is it totally separate?

Hi Natalie,
I've been following your blog for quite some time, and I went to high school with Richie!
My coworkers and I lifted little Gavin up in prayer for you today, for good news, health and a speedy recovery! (I work at a Christian school, and we gather together every morning to pray).
Know you are in our thoughts and prayers!

Thinking of flowing fountains, and waves, no......oceans of pee!!

I hate that you are all going through this. You've been a huge inspiration to me and my quest to capture the true essence of family through my photography. I also, happen to be an ER nurse. If you have any questions don't hesitate to email me.

continuing to lift your precious baby + your family up. praying you are surrounded by love, peace and courage as you endure this walk---and that he is healed quickly.

You dont know me, but I saw this post from a friend on facebook. I have a five month old and I cant imagine what you and your family are going through right now. My family will say many prayers for you all. Your posts are written with such vivid emotion and such inspiration. Knowing that you could be so strong at such a trying time is amazing. The lord works in many wonderful ways and I know he is there with you and your baby.

And I agree with you, if this isn't another soaring reason that children should be vaccinated I dont know what is. The benefits of vaccination far outweigh the risks. I also never thought of us getting booster shots, great idea! God bless.

Your mom told me about your blog, so I had to check it out when I got home! You have such a supportive family, and for that you're truly blessed. I've never met a team of doctors, nurses, and all the other care providers like those in the PICU. You all are in wonderful hands as you go through this trying time.

I actually sat in my car and prayed Psalm 23 before my shift the first night I met you. Know that I'm constantly praying for Gavin and all of you! I'm following you on Twitter now so I can stay updated while I'm away for a few days. Best of luck, and stay strong!

I've got your back. I'll even send you a jell-o salad if it comes to that.

Oh my goodness Natalie!!!! I so feel for you and know exactly what you are going through! You are in my thoughts and prayers! My son was born at 27wks and we almost lost him on numerous occasions and the doctors had to finally use an experimental gas on him to save his life. It was a very long 10 wks, with many ups and downs and like you I watched his body full of tubes and prayed and prayed to God to watch over him and take care of him..... and he did! He is now 6 yrs old and a very healthy, busy little boy! So I know that God and EVERYONE's prayers for you, will be answered! Have faith and trust in God to take care of Gavin!!!! You are truly blessed and I believe everything does happen for a reason even though we cannot see it at the time! My heart feels for you, and when I read your blog it brought me right back to when my son was in the hospital, walking those halls, pumping my milk, holding his tiny frail little hand and yes, waiting for the pee!!!!!! And it will come, and he will get stronger and before you know it, he WILL be home! Good luck, stay strong and God bless you and all your family. I will pray...... <3

i found you on someones blog! i am so sorry about all that you and your family are going through. so sorry that that tiny body has to struggle so much already. my 9 year old had pertussis when she was 6 months old...SO SCARy! my daughter had recieved her immunizations and still got it. our whole family was exposed and we all had to be quarintined. i have had so many BAD immunization experiences that i have chosen to not immunize my last two kids. i am by no means against it but have decided that it doesn't benifit my family.

my family will be praying for your sweet boy. keeping the rest of your family in our prayers as well.
