Wednesday Update.

I woke up relatively relaxed.

Which in and of itself is miraculous
as I'm sure you can imagine.

Just knowing that there were a few improvements
last night. . . albeit small ones. . .
is HUGELY encouraging.

This morning his temperature is down. . .

WITHOUT THAT BLASTED COOLING PAD!!!

It's a complete battle against maternal instincts to see your
TINY BABY
all exposed in an air conditioned hospital room
while simultaneously lying on a refrigerated pad!!

I know it was vital to keep his core temperature down,
but his little extremities were LITERALLY like tiny purple ice cubes.

So grateful to Heavenly Father to have moved past that.
Hoping to stay away for good!

His blood pressure is also looking good this morning!

Last night, his white blood cell count was
down from 109,000 to 20,000!!
(though I haven't been updated today as to the current count)

. . . aaaaaaaaand he's peeing!!!

I never thought I'd be so excited about pee!!

This morning my magical mom said:
"prayer really is the wonder drug."

Boy is she right.

Thank you!!
I love you times a hundred gazillion!

Miracles miracles all around.

Prayin' for pee,

Nat

Just found your blog through "Simply Me" blog. I'm praying hard for your family.

Hello - I found your blog through another photog on Facebook - reposted it on my FB page asking for prayers for you all. Little Gavin weighed on my mind all night -I tossed and turned seeing his little pictures (the ones on our blog) in my mind - and everytime I said another quick prayer. My baby girl is just 9 months now - and we're off to make sure she's up to do on her shots! I'll be thinking of your family all day and for days to come -I hope you all are staying strong! elle zober

Hi Natalie- I'm Shanae Jones sister. I stop by every once and a while. I am def praying for you, your little man, and your family. I know some of what you're feeling and especially seeing little Gavin on a cooling bed. I just had my baby boy 6 weeks ago and he wasn't breathing when they took him out from an emergency C-section and they life flighted him to Primary's and then he was on a cooling bed for 72 hours to try and reduce brain damage. It's def reassuring ANY little improvement that the docs tell you about. My little guy's situation is not totally the same but I feel for you and am so impressed by how much faith and strength you have. Miracles do happen in that place and especially with thousands praying for the little man and your family.

Found your blog via a twitter RT. I love your stand of faith and determination in the middle of such a terrifying circumstance! Know that I'm placing my faith hand in hand with yours for Gavin. I believe that God freely gave us the gift of healing when Jesus gave His life on the Cross. He literally gave HIS blood in exchange for Gavin's!

Our healing isn't a fragile uncertainty; it is a sure reality.

"And how bold and free we then become in His presence, freely asking according to His will, sure that He's listening. And if we're confident that He's listening, we know that what we've asked for is as good as ours." - 1 John 5:14-15

YAY!!!! I can't even explain how much happiness and peace it brings me to here this today. What a wonderful Heavenly Father, who has granted this. Moroni 7 speaks of miracles and angels ministering unto the children of men. I know that angels have administered to your son, both here on earth and in heaven. God Bless. Lots of love!!!

I found your blog on the DPS site. I am praying for Gavin and your family. My daughter was critically ill 2 years ago. Modern medicine and PICU docs are the best. However, it was a miracle from God from the round-the-clock prayer by too many people to name that healed her. May God be watching over Gavin and touch him with his healing hand and may he give you strength, courage and peace. There is a song that really touched us and may help you. 'He's my son' by Mark Schulz (christian artist). It's a prayer for a boy who is suffering. I changed the words a little because I have a girl. It's a beautiful song. May it give you peace knowing God hears these prayers!

I have been praying for you and your little man ever since I heard yesterday. So encouraging to see how the world has come along side of you in prayer and I am so happy to hear some good news. I have a two year old and we have been praying for Gavin before his nap and bedtime. God is in control & is using your faith and your son's illness to touch many hearts. Thank you for being bold and sharing your story so we can come along side you and pray for your little man.

PRAYING FOR MORE PEE! Fight, Gavin, Fight!!

Kristen said...

Gavin is gone now but please don't forget these miracles. They ARE answers to prayers. There IS power in faith. I believe that God does all he can to answer our pleading, without altering His plan. Gavin needed to go now and he will miss you too.

All of these turns for the better were gifts. You don't need to feel that now, but someday. God loves you.
