Praying for You.

As we join our prayers together for my son,
most of us strangers,
I feel profoundly connected to each and every one of you.

The very depth of my gratitude
is of course impossible to describe for
there are no words to do said gratitude even a breath of justice.

Please know,
I'm praying for you too.

I'm thanking God for your goodness
and pleading to him with all my faith and love to
bless your lives with all the love, joy,
peace and prosperity you deserve.

I'm praying for harmony and health in your families.
Peaceful happy hearts and joyous daily experiences.

I'm praying that you feel the loving arms of your
loving Father in Heaven
around you as you go through this and every day
and as you weather the inevitable storms of mortality.

These prayers are the only way I know
to express a gratitude for which there are no words.

So I continue to pray. . .
and cry.
Tears of gratitude and love
for your kindness.

I've always known that prayers ARE heard and answered,
but I never understood the power prayer had to
seal hearts together
. . . until now.

All kinds of love coming your way,

Nat

PS. Your comments mean the world to us. Though we obviously aren't currently afforded the time to respond to each one personally, please know that we do read EACH and EVERY one. They uplift us tremendously. They bring tears and strength and glory to God. THANK YOU.

**Today we'll be printing your comments and taking them to the doctors and angels in the PICU. They deserve to know just how much faith is being extended, from literally all over the world, in their behalf.**

I friend directed me to your blog a few days ago and I've been following it and praying for your baby. We had a miracle in my family last year and I'm confident that the same will happen to yours! I posted on my facebook and this morning a lot of moms at my kids' school said that they read it are also praying for your son. Hang in there! Soon it will all be over and you'll have your healthy baby in your arms.

Hi Natalie, A friend recommend your blog to me a while back as I'm trying my hand at photography & I've loved reading it ever since!

Once I started seeing your tweets about baby Gavin, my heart has been touched so deeply. Your faith is so admirable and I'm sure God looks down on you & smiles at His child who is trusting in Him! What a witness I'm sure you've been to all those you've come into contact through this whole experience.

Praying for baby Gavin today & for your family to continuosly sustained by the love that is surrounding you and praying for those hearts that might be getting a glimpse of God's love for the first time through you :)

Natalie & Family -
My good thoughts to you are infinite, I can't imagine what you're going through. But I'm moved more than I can say (apparent at the very least by a strangers comment on a strangers blog) to think in this time of angst for you; you would stop and pray for us too.
You are inspiring & encouraging. I hugged my 4th grader a little harder and called him my baby boy - to which he rolled his eyes - and I am sending all the positivity I can each day.

Lots and lots of prayers from Mississippi!
Faith Triumphs in Trouble
1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have[a] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Your faith and prayers (as well as all of ours) will not be dismissed. He hears them all and in time there will come an answer, in a still small voice. He will come to you!

My heart aches for you, as a Mom, to know how helpless and exhausted you must be! I am sending all the prayers that I can Gavin's way!! I pray that God wraps him tightly in his loving arms, and gives him the strength to fight as hard as he can! I pray that the doctor's are blessed with the knowledge and strength to keep pushing him to fight, and also that they find the right track to take with his treatment. I pray that you find the comfort, strength and peace to keep pushing forward through each heartbreaking moment, but also each hurtle he overcomes! Thinking of you, and praying hard for Gavin to pee!!! many blessings to you!

I was actually a PICU nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital a couple of years ago, before I had two little boys of my own. I want you to know that all of the medical knowledge and experience can not compete with a mother's intuition and faith. I learned so much from the mothers of my little patients, who were so in tune with what was going on because they knew their child best. Gavin is so blessed to have you as his mom. I am praying for you guys. He will pull through. The PICU is a special place that is close to my heart. Miracles happen there all the time! Love you!

You're a brave mom. I knew about your baby today on DPS blog, then I remembered that my mom struggled to give birth to me. She was 40 yrs old and she had lost 3 babies but I was born against all hope.

We live in a poor country but LOVE can do everything: make faith strong, enlighten the minds of the doctors and fight against bad things.

I don't know very much about medical stuff but I DO know there are only 2 medicines that can heal everything: Love and Faith, and you and your family have both of them.

Thanks for being a shining example of positivity and faith. I am praying for you and for Gavin and for your sweet family and for the doctors and angels treating him. My baby was in NICU 10 years ago also, and I know how that feels - it's something nobody can understand who hasn't been there, but I hope it helps you to know that she is 10 years old, alive and kickin' today - and you'd never know she was there. I believe he will live, and thrive. I have faith for him too. And, you will return to your lives again. Hang in there. It's just a moment in time.

I know what it is like to leave with after a medical battle with a beautiful baby in arm. I pray you will experience that soon! You are an amazing mama and an amazing woman. I read your blog and you have a beautiful way with words. You seem so geniune and kind and your faith in God is incredible. I am learning so much about faith through you. I have posted a prayer request on facebook and have my family praying as well. We know that miracles are out there and that you and sweet baby Gavin and your family are difinitely deserving of these miracles. You are in the best place for healing there at Primary's. My younger brother is in that PICU all the time and we have witnessed amazing things happening there. Medicine is a miracle all on it's own, and coupled with your faith and devotion to God and your family you deserve to win. We will continue to pray for you and your family, for comfort and healing.

i'm amazed and in awe of God's divine appointment right now. i happened to see a tweet of yours, because a very distant friend of mine had re-tweeted it. so, i came to your blog and have been praying for gavin all day. i can tell by reading your most recent posts that you already know this, but: nothing in this life, no matter how HUGE or how insignificant, happens if it is not expressly and only for YOUR good, and for GOD'S glory. oh how God will use this trial to change/redeem/bless/bring together SOOO many lives! that is what i am praying for... and believe me, it has already touched my life profoundly, as i'm sure it has so many others who have commented here (and maybe who haven't commented). blessings and prayers and hope and love, in Jesus name, from San Diego :)

We came across your blog thru a fellow mommy asking for prayers! We are praying for "Gabin" My son says Gabin instead of Gavin, anyway, we are praying for you here, all of us. I have asked my Mother-in-law to put you on the prayer chain in Northern MN as well. Keep strong momma, daddy, siblings, & Gavin.

Natalie and Family-

You're found the Prayer of Faith and it's power... We're adding our prayers to the many others for Gavin and for you and your family.

There is much love coming out of the Laie community for you guys... as classes started today on BYU-Hawaii you were mentioned and talked about and I just know the Lord is hearing all these prayers and sending his many angels down to lift you up, carry you through, guide the hands and minds of those working for your son.

I'm so grateful for the miracles you've already seen. Thank you for reaching out and asking for help and sharing the miracles... the faith of MANY will be strengthened and have been through you guys... mine has already :)

with much aloha, love and faith,

Leisa Tapia

As I am struggling today with the emotions of my six year old daughter Izzy, who just arrived in Riyadh with her dad... I decided to take a diversion to read up on your latest with Gavin because obviously your situation is MUCH MUCH HARDER than mine.

Your words on this post could seem unoriginal or corny to the spiritually dead reader but they SPOKE to me so tenderly and profoundly as if they were only written for me.

I am extremely caught up in the management of my three children, mine and my husband's international careers and how to arrange all of our lives...

While all these things are important-- the story of the Norton's at Primary Children's Hospital are a graphic reminder of making sure every moment and every decision is decided with the utmost listening ear toward Heaven and the host of angels who are watching over us.

If your next post could be about how to convince my nearly 17 year old to "just trust me" in helping guide his life, then that would be a personal miracle. ; ) It doesn't even need to come from me.... ANY angel who could help him would be GREAT.

I'm going next door to check on Cardon and see if he wants to come and make the Limaide that we had planned for yesterday.

Lot's of love to you and Richie!

(word verifier said phots- pretty cosmic for your blogger as it was just missing the second "O". I LOVE your baby phot_s of Gavin!)

Natalie and Family,
Just heard about baby Gavin through DPS. Natalie you're one of my inspirations, and I am praying for your baby Gavins full recovery. I almost died from whooping cough when I was an infant (I'm now 45). 99.8% was the mortality rate they told my parents. The power of prayer and the love of a strong family DOES work miracles. I've seen it! Natalie, pray to your brother, I know he too, will watch over Gavin. Praying for you!!!!

Nat -

Your post today brought a smile a mile wide to my face. I'm so excited to hear of his progress and his good news. Since posting on my facebook you've gotten some Kansas City prayers as well. I'm thinking of you and your family constantly as I stare at my 7 week old baby Jillian. We hope that the news keeps getting better and that Gavin is on the road to a speedy recovery. What an amazing, strong mother you are. God knew what he was doing when he made you Gavin's mommy. Keep your strength and your amazing spirit. Much love.
