The Tsujita Family: Kahala Family Portrait Session.

I absolutely LOVED photographing the Tsujita family in Kahala! Wenjun is the most adorable little baby of all time. It was a nice change NOT to be shooting a family portrait session at the beach. . . :) Thanks for the fun Jinly, Kazuya and Wenjun, and thanks to Beana the blond for assisting! Enjoy!

Hi Natalie! Just flew into Hong Kong from Taipei and am exhausted (traveling with Wenjun is a lot of work!) but seeing your pics have put a huge smile on my face! Thank you for capturing my son's baby-ness. He grows so quickly and changes from day to day...so we will really treasure these pictures for a long long time. Thank you for being so great at what you do! Congratulations on your upcoming baby!!

Hello - love your stuff, been reading many of your posts from DPS. On your 5th portrait down from top, how do you get the blown out contast / exposure look. It happens by accident to me, sometime I like it sometimes I don't. But how do you DO it?

Thanks!

Kristin

Wait, you're pregnant?

Just Me,

Ok, with a backlit shot like that what I do is (manually exposing) expose for the shadow. . . in this case the little boy's foot (my aperture was 2.0). To get rid of that haze that often comes from shooting directly into the light, I just pulled in the left slider in the levels and did a slight contrast boost and voila!

Hope that helps!

Aloha,

Nat
