I'm Reading.

Mother Warriors ,and it's remarkable. Whether your life has been affected by autism or not, this is a must read for mothers and fathers everywhere. It's full of incredible stories of heartache and hope, so.much.hope. It sheds light on the vaccination process we opt into for our children as well as what we allow them to be exposed to environmentally through the foods they eat. Reading this book is NOT making me flip to the anti-vaccination side of the spectrum, but you can bet your bottom dollar that it's causing me to think twice about a few things. . . particularly the mind gut connection. I've always believed that we are affected (to our very soul) by what we put into our bodies and this book is solidifying the thoughts that have been knocking on my heart for some time now. Go grab your copy today.

Hi! I just wanted to say that I have so much respect for Jenny McCarthy and what she has to go through as a mother as we as what she is doing to try and help other parents who are dealing with similar situations. I, personally had a scare with autism with my second boy and for months it never left my mind. Thank God, that it wasn't what I thought it was, and that it was a whole other health issue that we had been able to resolve with surgery. He is a new boy today and I feel like those few months really got me thinking twice about vaccinations and such. My two older boys haven't had a vaccine since they were two, and seem to be doing wonderfully. My youngest has only had the one vaccination in the hospital when he was born and hasn't had one since. He has also not been sick a single day in his life either and I feel like, letting your body fight off sicknesses naturally, is the best way to go. I guess there are two sides to this but I think I will take my chances on measles (1 in 1000 die IF they are ever infected with measles), then for my boy to have a 1 in 80 chance of developing autism as a result of getting the MMR vaccine (which I believe causes it). Anyway, read the book. You will learn a lot more than you think. : )

Caroline,

Amen. I agree. . . the chances of our kids developing autism from those shots is shockingly more likely than them ever developing/dying from any of those diseases. It's a risk either way though. . . I love the quote from the book "Genetics loads the gun and environment pulls the trigger." We have no idea what diseases (such as autism) our children may or may not have an inclination toward. That's why I feel like the underlying message in the book is SO IMPORTANT for us as mothers. . . TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS! You are smarter than you know. Doctors DO NOT know everything and they certainly DO NOT have a mother's divine gift of intuition as it pertains to their children!

xoxo,

Natalie

Mary Elizabeth,

Oh goodness me. My heart is so full for you and your family. I wish I could help in some way. Can I ask, do you see any connection between the initial symptoms and vaccination?

So much love and prayers to you and yours,

Natalie

I have heard so much about McCarthy and her speaking out and sharing what she's learned.
Thanks for the book reference! I am familiar with the process of clinically diagnosing autism and know that symptoms are not usually evident at birth, but that it is diagnosed by age 2. I have worked with children with autism. It has always fascinated me. With the push to "immunize by 2" and the correlation of an increase in the amount of vaccinations a child receives by age 2 and an increase in the number of cases of autism in our country, the possible correlation is just too much to overlook. I've wondered, "Why do we do this to them?" Children can be immunized at older ages, too, when their bodies are bigger and stronger. It's scary what we pump them full of - the toxins in vaccinations - when they're so small. I am open to investigating, learning and following MY gut as well. And yet I have some anger twds a medical community (in general) who deny, deny, deny any link between vaccinations and autism. I wouldn't be surprised if one day, with time to research, the correlation is indisputable. Then what will they say? "Oops. Sorry."

I loved this book also. Ditto to all of the other posts. My generation X profile was not so open minded when I "instinctively" and prayerfully opted out of vaccinations for my boys fifteen years ago. I was a bit of a silent rebel because it was so overwhelming to take on an articulate position to the MEGA establishment. I am so relieved to have the evidence of Evan McCarthy and his warrior mother to bring it out into common understanding and especially crack the shell of the Pediatricians. Like Jenny says, we need non toxic vaccines.... but there is a lot to be said for our God made immune system! I've seen it do wonders when we know how to support it, work with it and not suppress it! That mind gut connection is the most revealing. One of my favorite quotes in the book was about if any one doubts how that works, just walk into any bar and see what happens in there. It's like a science lab for the mind-gut connection. So true! Thanks for sharing Nat.
