My Home. My Office. My Packaging.

Ok, so last week I disappeared. I was organizing my house, and I DID IT. I DID IT!!!! My house is amazing. I totally de-junked, totally cleaned and TOTALLY HAVE A NEW LEASE ON LIFE!! It was such a remarkably healing process for me. Since Gavin died, I personally have been living in survival mode and we as a family have consequently been living like pigs. Ew. Snort. Ew. I'm so over it. We all are. So last week, Richie went to the mainland and I went on a cleaning RAMPAGE! I RECLAIMED MY LIFE, and I feel so SO GOOD! Ok, so . . . the one room I skipped = MY OFFICE. It is the Devil's den. I'm on such a role that I can't wait to tackle it this coming week. This will be one of the fun design elements in said office, but mine will be a hundred times cooler, with better funnels and colorful ribbon, not twine.

Thanks Martha for the poorly executed idea that I'm going to make freaktastic!
Ok, now I feel bad. Martha, you are great and I heart you to the moon.
The idea is AWESOME, and I can't wait to taylor it to me!

What am I going to do with this ribbon you may ask? Wrap your disks, that's what. My new packaging is SO DANG WONDERUL AND FUN AND SPLENDID AND MEEEEE. . . that's the part I'm the most excited about. It has my name written all over it. . . no, not literally. ;)

Anyway, so here's to me for accomplishing the impossible and reclaiming my sanctuary . . . my home, for me and my boys. Here's to me for taking my life back. And here's to me for healing a little bit every day.

And to the Devil's Den, WATCH OUT 'cause HERE.I.COME!

xo,

N

I am so loving following you on twitter. You are too, too.
p.s. It's raining and COLD COLD COLD. Wish we had the Bounder, some Sleepless in Seatle soundtrack and you and the g-man to warm things up!

Way to go on getting so much cleaning done! It is time consuming but so worth it! I love the funnel idea! Cool for Christmas ribbons too! Good luck with the office!

Yours or Martha's, what a great idea. Thanks for illustrating it here, I would have never found it in a Martha magazine. But now that I've seen it, I can do the same set up in my studio!

Thanks Again.

A somewhat new reader, I was curious who Gavin was, and decided to click on his name. I was brought to numerous posts about your dear brother. I just sat here for about 10 minutes in tears reading all of the wonderful things you had to say about him, learning about your relationship and about loneliness and happiness . Hopefully you don't mind, but it's made me think a little differently about all of my relationships. So thank you.

And congrats on an organized house!

I can relate - don't you just feel like you can think again? There's a magic in organization, downsizing, simplifying - it allows space for creativity & spontaneous relationship building.
Bless you and your home. Thanks for the inspiration! Angel
