If you're shooting in AV mode, I'd suggest choosing a higher aperture. . . at least 16 or higher to get the proper exposure. . . in bright sun. See how that works, and let me know.

hi Nat. I own Canon Eos 300D aka Rebel. Since I'm just learning photography, I put the camera to Av mode. I've tried to take a picture of my son with the blue sky background and tried several settings. But it turned out the sky was washed-out. Or else, the sky was blue but dark foreground.
